Patagonian Semi-Pelagic Trawl

Patagonian Semi-Pelagic Trawl

A high-opening trawl with a large-mesh bottom and long, smooth, body tapers that allow fish easy access to the codend. It incorporates a detachable roller gear footrope, or a chain footrope, for changing fishing conditions.

Features

  • Engineered Pelagic Trawl Designs by the NET Systems engineering team. Horsepower and Bollard Pull ratings are critical components for design parameters and vessel trawl selection. The NET Systems team designs nets for all Horsepower, Bollard Pull Ratings, Fishing Grounds, Vessels and Fish species specific Trawls.
  • Very flexible fishing dimensions can be achieved with simple rigging adjustments to accommodate any Fishing conditions.
  • Headrope & Breastlines made with Dyneema fibers (UHMW), Grade-80 Chain Footropes constitutes the front end frame work. These ropes and Grade-80 Chain provide a stable and rugged front end frame.
  • Constructed using high-grade nylon ropes, netting and twine for greater durability and strength.
  • Aft ends made out of UC Silver knotless netting or high tenacity knotted polyethylene netting. NETS aft ends greatly reduce towing resistance by utilizing Ultra Cross Knotless Netting made with Dyneema fibers. Lighter, stronger & with much less towing resistance than conventional knotted netting. Improvements in PE twine dynamics allow NETS to use smaller twine diameters over traditional PE netting when a lower cost knotted PE aft end is selected. Both aft end options will reduce towing resistance over traditional PE netting.
  • Riblines of braided ropes made with Dyneema fibers in the aft end of the trawls. These Riblines provide a stable framework for the rugged demands created by Trawling. Alternative Ribline materials available upon request, but they do not supply the stability and strength of Dyneema fibers.
