NET System midwater trawls & bottom trawls use DSM Dyneema® fibers in the aft ends when using UC Silver netting and framing lines when we use Samson Ropes such as Amsteel. By using these materials, the trawls will become lighter and perform with less drag.
The Monster Trawl is the latest midwater design from NET Systems that provides a trawl with excellent bottom tending as well as a trawl that is effective during pelagic fishing. We have made the net more user friendly: by using color-coded, jacketed nylon line for the front ends. This provides better abrasion resistance for the longer meshes, leading to a longer life of the trawl. Using the colored ropes helps the fishermen see where they are in the net, especially during repairs. The flat taper on the sides combined with the vortex reduction® design allows fish to flow easily into the codend.
Radial Trawl is designed to achieve a very large herding area with a towing resistance lower than that of conventional midwater trawls. The large heading area and less drag of the Radial trawl allows a vessel to cover more ground and thus increasing it’s catch rate.
Aleutian Wing Trawl is a smaller, heavier, and more rugged net than the Radial Trawl and works well when targeting fish schools swimming at or near the bottom.
Wonder Trawl is a 4-bridle design with short wings, which makes it an ideal net for handling the toughest ocean-floor conditions and is easily handled with or without a net drum.
Patagonian Semi-Pelagic Trawl is a high-opening trawl with a large-mesh bottom and long, smooth, body tapers that allow fish easy access to the codend. It incorporates a detachable roller gear footrope, or a chain footrope, for changing fishing conditions.
